Rye, NH – Partners Bank has donated $7,500 to Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH, and is sponsoring the operation of their program, Isles of Shoals Excursion.

When we say community is important to us, the first thing you might think of is our community on land. You might think of how Partners Bank has supported many of the local organizations between Limerick, ME, and Kingston, NH. However, there is another place that might not immediately come to mind but is still considered part of our community. To find it, you will have to travel east until your feet touch the sand and the saltwater creeps up to your toes… the ocean.

We don’t need to tell you how big of an impact the ocean has had on the Greater Seacoast’s economy, culture, and environment; but what we can tell you is how crucial it is that we do our best to preserve and protect it so future generations can enjoy the wonderful gifts it provides. That is why, since 2019, Partners Bank has been a sponsor of the Seacoast Science Center located in NH.

“We’re pleased to partner with Seacoast Science Center and provide continuous support over the years for their mission and exhibits,” said Karen Andronaco, Market Manager of the Partners Bank Rye location.

The mission of the Seacoast Science Center is to spark curiosity, enhance understanding, and inspire the conservation of our Blue Planet. They achieve this mission through education.

With their exhibits such as Marine Mammals of the Gulf of Maine and Restoring Reefs and programs such as Marine Science Fellowship and Isles of Shoals Excursions, they teach people of all ages the positive and negative impacts humans have had on marine life. Specifically, this latest donation of $7,500 from Partners Bank will go to the Isles of Shoals Excursion and will help the Center to continue bringing folks to the tide pools and allowing them to witness wildlife like harbor and gray seals in the Gulf of Maine. This excursion is not just a sightseeing tour. The marine experts onboard the Shining Star provide a priceless, in-depth, and educational experience and even teach them how to carefully handle some micro animals at the tide pools.

With their conservation efforts, the Seacoast Science Center puts into action what they teach in their educational programs. Volunteers are the heart of their conservation programs, which includes Coastal Habitat Restoration and Marine Mammal Rescue. According to their website, the Marine Mammal Rescue is “a 24/7 hotline and responds to all reports of marine mammals that haul out or strand on the shore in New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts (from Essex, MA, to the Maine border).” When you report to their Marine Mammal Response Hotline at 603-997-9448, they will dispatch a Seacoast Science Center MMR staff member and/or a volunteer to assess the situation.
