Partners Bank Helps FuRRR Feline Rescue Save Cats with $1,000 Donation

Faith Fontaine, Partners Bank Deposit Operations Representative, and Tyler, one of the cats at FuRRR Feline Rescue, present a $1,000 check from Partners Bank’s Employee Donation of the Month program.

Rochester, NH – Every month, Partners Bank selects one employee to choose a charity or organization to receive a $1,000 donation from the Bank. In August, Faith Fontaine, Deposit Operations Representative, was the chosen employee, and she selected FuRRR Feline Rescue to receive the donation.

FuRRR’s mission statement is, “To rescue cats from abandonment, provide rehabilitation when necessary, bring our cats and their humans together in adoption, and provide a retirement to those already in our care.” They are a no-kill, non-profit rescue that takes in cats that need extensive medical care, which includes traumatized cats who need emotional care.

When Fontaine moved to the Southern Maine area in September 2023, she was motivated to volunteer at a cat rescue. During her search expeditions on Google, she came across FuRRR Feline Rescue in Rochester, NH. When Fontaine discovered that FuRRR’s mission aligned with hers, she signed up to volunteer. Since February, she has consistently lent a hand 2-3 times per month.

“They are such a great organization that does so much for our feline friends! I get the joys of meeting new cats, taking care of them, and meeting new potential adopters!” Fontaine shared about her volunteering experience at FuRRR.

While it’s impossible to prevent cats from being neglected, abandoned, or abused, FuRRR does their part to combat the inhumane actions against felines by taking in local surrenders and strays. They house and care for a wide range of cats, including elderly, special needs, and at-risk-of-euthanasia cats from high-kill shelters. These cats live in a cage-free environment where they can socialize with each other instead of being isolated.

“This donation will help feed and care for so many of our sweet kitties! It also helps us provide lifesaving medical intervention for some of the cats that come to our shelter in need of medical help,” said Fontaine.

Because FuRRR is a 100% volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) organization, the entire $1,000 donation from Partners Bank will go towards helping to save the lives of cats in FuRRR’s care. Since their inception in 2015, FuRRR has saved an average of 450-600 cats per year, resulting in thousands of cats being rehomed and receiving a second chance at a happy, healthy, and loving life.
